Our hobby at Floramama is to scour our suppliers' catalogs and the Instagram accounts of our florist friends from around the world and unearth unique and rare flower varieties with exceptional characteristics. For several years now, we have been offering bulbs in the fall and seeds in the winter, carefully selected for their funkiness. We are absolutely and totally excited to add to this a sublime selection of bulbs to plant in the spring!
If, like us, you would all like to buy them, here are five favorite varieties from this same selection that we can't wait to introduce you to and, above all, to see blooming in your gardens!
1. Double tuberose
This variety has long been prized for its intoxicating, jasmine-like fragrance. Its scent is so powerful that it has been used in perfumery for centuries. In addition to its captivating aroma, it boasts beautiful blooms with delicate pink hues on the flower buds, adding to its irresistible charm. It's been a favorite of ours for quite some time now!

2. Iris Sibirica 'Paprikash'
Its unique color combination makes it a rather rare flower! With its shades ranging from plum to coppery caramel, this iris stands out in the garden. What makes it even more valuable is its ability to grow in wetter soils, where few other flowers thrive. An ideal variety for blooms in more difficult areas.

3. Gladiolus 'Earl Grey'
Another flower with exceptional colors that makes it a rare variety! This unique, almost gray lilac color is a very rare shade in the floral world. In addition to this magnificent color, its massive flowers form a dense floral spike, creating the effect of a wall of flowers. This variety is not only of rare beauty but also extremely generous with its flowers!

4. Martagon lily 'Snow Morning'
Martagon lilies are synonymous with refinement and elegance. With their delicately drooping, bell-shaped flowers, they appear to float in the air, adding a magical touch to the garden. The 'Snow Morning' variety, in particular, stands out for its immaculate white color, a rarity among martagon lilies. A true gem for lovers of sophisticated flowers!

5. Peony 'Nick Shaylor'
This peony is spectacular for the impressive size of its flowers! What's even more impressive is watching its changing colors throughout the season. Starting out pale pink, they transform into a soft pastel pink that's almost white, revealing touches of red in the center. A fascinating floral display to admire throughout the blooming season.

We hope these favorite varieties will inspire your gardens this spring. May your garden be filled with color, fragrance, and floral surprises this season!
