Tagetes erecta
One of our favorites! Super easy to grow and definitely worth exploring. This very long-stemmed variety produces large, fiery orange flower balls surrounded by beautiful dark green foliage that last incredibly long in a vase. We love making single-variety bouquets or combining them with white and green. The branches can also be used as foliage. The petals are edible and perfect for dressing salads and desserts. The flavor is floral with notes of citrus and spice, and slightly bitter. The distinctive sharp and spicy scent that emanates from this flower is, in our opinion, truly unique and delicious. The flowers are often dried to make petal confetti or other exotic crafts.
