Sow indoors 6 weeks before the last frost. Do not cover the seeds with potting soil and water by capillary action to avoid dislodging them. Or sow directly outdoors as soon as the soil can be worked. Poppies like cool temperatures and can tolerate light frosts.

Harvest as soon as the flower buds "crack" and the color of the petals is visible inside. The flowers will open in a vase.
