Nigella papillosa

Although nigella may seem rather fragile, it is actually very hardy and provides early blooms for early spring. Its lacy, star-shaped flowers are framed by a delicate halo of fringed foliage. The grape-purple flowers are streaked with indigo. Each flower is a unique variation of mesmerizing hues and details.
