Sow indoors 4-5 weeks before the last frost and transplant outdoors when all risk of frost has passed. Do not cover the seeds; they need light to germinate. Keep moist by misting until the cotyledon emerges, then water normally. Sow a second time 2-3 weeks apart for a staggered harvest.

Harvest when 2 to 3 layers of petals have unfurled but before the flowers open completely to reveal the center. To dry, remove the foliage and hang them upside down in a warm, dry, and dark place until the stem hardens.
