Immortelles are unique and truly immortal flowers. Their dry papery texture will last a lifetime. Best known in dried autumn arrangements, they can also be used fresh. Pollinators love them. A magnificent blend of orange, dusty rose, salmon, and lemon.

Culture:

Sow indoors 4-5 weeks before the last frost and transplant outdoors when all risk of frost has passed. Do not cover the seeds; they need light to germinate. Keep moist by misting until the cotyledon emerges, then water normally. Sow a second time 2-3 weeks apart for a staggered harvest.

Harvest and duration in vase:

Harvest when 2 to 3 layers of petals have unfurled but before the flowers open completely to reveal the center. To dry, remove the foliage and hang them upside down in a dry place. warm, dry and dark until the stem hardens.
