Description:

A variety we've only been growing for 2 years, but it has become a firm favorite for its rapid growth (the earliest variety we grow!), its massive production, and the quality of its flowers. A fine burgundy line enhances the edge of the petals, and the interior is a sumptuous cream. Its "puffy" center is a beautiful buttery yellow. Polka is in my top 3 most beautiful dahlia varieties!

We love it in bunches (only 1 variety in a bouquet) or in a mixed autumnal arrangement with shades of burgundy and pink.
It also multiplies very well and produces quality tubers.

Dahlias produce several flowers per plant and over a period of several weeks if given proper care.
It is necessary to dig up the tubers in the fall and store them in winter because they cannot tolerate frost.

Dahlias can be grown in pots as long as the pot is AT LEAST 12 to 14 inches in diameter and 12 inches deep.

Harvest flowers when they are 3/4 open (unfolded), but not overripe. Dahlias are difficult to open once cut. Place in fresh water soon after harvesting. Flowers last 3 to 5 days in a vase.
