Sow indoors 3 to 4 weeks before the last frost and transplant outdoors when all risk of frost has passed. Can also be sown directly outdoors when all risk of frost has passed. Knapweeds are tolerant of cool temperatures. Sow every 3-4 weeks for a longer harvest.

Harvest when the color of the petals can be distinguished from the main bud, but it is still closed and ready to open.
