Asclepias incarnata
This perennial plant produces clusters of pink to mauve flowers on sturdy stems. It blooms all summer long until the first frost and attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. It also hosts monarch butterfly larvae, playing an essential role in local ecosystems. In floristry, it is mainly used for its foliage. Its stems are harvested until they become woody (hard stems).
