Sow directly outdoors in the fall for optimal germination the following spring. Alternatively, sow directly on the surface 12 to 16 weeks before the last frost in a covered container. Refrigerate for 4 weeks. Then place in a light, warm place. Keep the soil moist at all times. Transplant outdoors when the seedlings have 1 to 2 pairs of true leaves. Slow germination.
